Robotic rectal cancer surgery: the impact of a modular surgical training program on the oncological outcomes

Introduction: A modular training program in robotic colorectal surgery was adopted to improve training opportunities. We aimed to analyse clinical outcomes of robotic total mesorectal excision (TME) for rectal cancer, performed by the expert consultants and the surgical trainees in a fellowship program.
