Abstract

Background: The first robotic pancreatic resection in Brazil was performed by our team in 2008. Since March 2018, due to a new policy, we have moved to systematically use the robot in all minimally invasive pancreatic surgery procedures. The purpose of this article is to describe our experience with 126 consecutive robotic pancreatoduodenectomies. Our standardized technique included pylorus-preserving pancreatoduodenectomy, artery-first access for malignant cases (Fig. 1), no use of pancreatic stenting, and double drainage of the abdominal cavity.
