Abstract

We present our techniques for hilar dissection during robotic hemihepatectomy. Features include suture suspension of the gallbladder to the anterior abdominal wall to facilitate retraction, or alternatively, removal of the galbladder from the cystic plate and utilization for retraction. We demonstrate the use of indocyanine green to aid in the identification of biliary structures and line of parenchymal transection. We utilize bulldog clamps for test clamping portal vasculature and intraoperative ultrasound to verify contralateral hepatic perfusion. Short silk ties are used for vascular ligation and to aid in the application of locking plastic clips.
