Abstract

Bob Fine (Figure ​(Figure11) was born in Denver, Colorado, on December 21, 1952, and grew up mainly in Kansas City, Dallas, and Fairfax. He graduated from the University of Texas (UT) at Austin in 1973 in 3 years with highest honors and Phi Beta Kappa. He majored in English. After working a year in Austin, he entered the UT Health Science Center at Dallas (Southwestern Medical School), graduating in 1978. During that time, he was editor of Borborygmi, the student literary magazine. His internship and 2-year residency in internal medicine were at Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC). After finishing in 1981, he entered the private practice of internal medicine and became an active member of the BUMC medical staff.
