Abstract

ABSTRACT The passing of Robert Jervis in December 2021 has prompted a flood of personal recollections about our fellow editorial board member, describing how he created and refined theory, boosted careers, inspired students, and encouraged his colleagues. As the leading political scientist of his day, Robert Jervis will be remembered mostly for his contributions to political psychology, international relations theory, and nuclear strategy. Nevertheless, throughout his career, he always returned to his avocation – intelligence studies. Here is a brief summary of his contributions to the study and conduct of intelligence.
