Abstract

Dexamethasone as one of the major anti-myeloma drugs induces myeloma (MM) cell apoptosis via its receptor glucocorticoid receptor (GR). GR expression levels and post-translational modifications are critic for MM resistance to dexamethasone, but the mechanisms are largely unknown. In the present study, the RING type ubiquitin ligase RNF6 was found highly expressed in association with GR expression levels in MM cells and promotes cell proliferation. Subsequent studies showed that RNF6 induces GR with K63-linked polyubiquitination, and then increases its stability.
