Abstract

During the past several years, VLSI technology development has made microprocessor systems much faster and less expensive. Accompanying this the cost of software development has increased due to systems becoming more complex and man-power becoming more expensive. Recognizing this problem, software vendors have developed the RMX—real-time multitasking executive. Like the development of the microprocessor in the electronic design world and the development of high-level languages in the microprocessor assembly-language program world, the development of RMX will be one of the mile-stones in computer development history and has already greatly reduced the cost of computer systems.
