Abstract

Spectrograms taken at Sacramento Peak were analyzed by means of power analysis. The vertical and non-vertical rms granular velocity field in active Solar regions shows a significant reduction compared to that of the non-active regions. We explain this reduction in terms of enhanced magnetic fields in active regions and the resulting inhibition of small-scale velocity fields.
