Abstract

The relativistic energy density of nuclear matter derived in the Dirac-Brueckner approach, by solving the Dirac-Bethe-Goldstone equation, is parametrized in terms of the relativistic mean field (RMF) theory. The obtained mean field parameters represent a parametrization of effective interaction in nuclear medium. The RMF model of this interaction is used to calculate the properties of finite nuclei. A good agreement with experiments is obtained.
