Abstract
A study of riveting noise in the aircraft industry has been made. Octave band analysis led to a statistical survey, where variations in sheet, thickness, rivet diameter, and Bucking bar were tried. Although design consideration will prevent us from eliminating major noise sources, some limited data are available in controllable factors which have significant influence on riveting noise level.
