Abstract

The proposed hydraulic calculation is sufficiently universal. It makes it possible to take into account, under conditions of the two-dimensional problem, the effect of the length of a quarry, its depth, ratios of the upstream and downstream slopes of the quarry, and surface roughness within the quarry excavation on a drop of the water level. As a first approximation the proposed method can be applied also to the case of the three-dimensional problem.
