Abstract

Ten years ago, the exhibition Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese… Rivals in Renaissance Venice was held at the Musée du Louvre. The narrative framework of this exhibition was based on the artistic and psychological confrontation between these three giants of the Venetian school of the Cinquecento. Through analysis and comparison of Tintoretto's and Veronese's pictorial style and their works, these two artists’ personalities emerge opposites in every way.
