Abstract

Jiaben Shen, who lived in the Qing dynasty, wrote Textual Research on the Criminal Law of the Past Dynasties, which included two sections, “Dong Zhongshu’s Adjudication” and “Adjudication Based on the Spring and Autumn Annals,” explaining how Dong Zhongshu, a Confucian scholar, decided cases on the basis of Confucian classics argumentation.
