Abstract

Through February 2022, more than 426 million cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been reported globally, resulting in more than 5.8 million deaths. Severe cases of COVID-19 may result in hypoxemic respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and septic shock.1
