Abstract
There is a link between the BRCA2 mutation and the increased risk of early-onset breast cancer in families.1 This gene is clearly associated with male breast cancer2,3 and mutation in the BRCA2 gene was shown in 40% of male breast-cancer cases in Iceland.2 We therefore expected breast cancer risk to be high in daughters of male breastcancer patients.
