Risk management in computer-based systems development by use of performance and reliability metrics

Abstract

This paper proposes the inclusion of performance and reliability metrics monitoring to manage risk in the development of computer-based systems. It provides a description of these two metric systems, as well as recommendations as to when and how to use them to reduce program risk associated with schedule delays and cost overruns.
