Abstract

Mood disorders are associated with cognitive deficits, even in remission. There is heterogeneity in prevalence- and severity of such deficits, however. Risk factors like relapse, depressive symptoms, rumination, comorbidity, and family history of mental disorders, could exacerbate cognitive deficits. Longitudinal assessment of first episode depression could elucidate on how such risk factors are related to cognition.
