Abstract

The Rising Caesarean Rate: A Public Health Issue was held on 23 November in London. It was planned in response to the 1998/99 English National Board Survey — Midwifery Practice that found that 25% of maternity services had a caesarean rate of over 30% and was organized by the National Childbirth Trust (NCT), the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG).
