Abstract

With the domains of big data, knowledge management (KM), and knowledge capital (KC) gaining tremendous interest from practitioners and academics, this paper examines creating intelligent knowledge and the assimilation of both tacit and explicit knowledge to build intelligent organizations. The paper focuses on the transformation of traditional organizations into intelligent organizations by converting their participants' real-world experiences and skills that reside in their tacit knowledge into articulated, transformed data and codified knowledge. This process is aimed at building KC brought to higher level of intelligence with the integration of business intelligence (BI) and the use of BI tools. The paper proposes the use of a concern-issue-problem opportunity (CIPO) model integrated with BI to outline a knowledge management process designed for the capture of heuristics and expert knowledge that can be applied to optimize the factors of time and money.
