Abstract

Young people consume alcohol and drugs in a way that can be harmful to their health. Concerning the research on the consumption of psychoactive substances and sexual behaviour in Romania, there are some deficiencies. In a very large study with 10,144 young people (average age of 18.97 years,), most respondents said they had started their sexual life at the age of 16. However, there was a total of 21.8% who started their sexual life at the age of 15 and under 15. Regarding condom use, 45.9% of adolescents say they do not use condoms every time they have sex. Concerning the non-condom use decision, the state of pleasure is the most important thing. In the case of rape, this research has found that 304 people (3%) said they were victims of rape committed by a partner (or another person) who was under the influence of alcohol. The percentage of those who told their relatives or friends about the rape was 2.4%, meaning that 60 people did not tell anyone about rape, and worse, only 102 people filed a complaint with the police.
