Abstract
Ripercorrendo alcuni "passi" del percorso compiuto dalla Costituzione italiana del 1948, si è tentato in primis di soffermare l'attenzione sul modello liberaldemocratico scaturito dall'arduo lavoro dei Costituenti. Questi gettarono le basi di un nuovo inizio, poi seguì la travagliata attuazione e il crescente susseguirsi di progetti di riforma, spesso non arrivati a compimento, se non addirittura respinti con voto popolare. "Tutti avvertono che non va, ma non si sa come corregerla o sostituirla" affermò Ugo Spirito già nel lontano 1972. E intanto la Costituzione del 1948 appare ancora oggi come il patto che lega il popolo italiano nella libertà e nella democrazia, oltre tutte le ragioni di divisione.
