Abstract
The category of morphisms of R-modules is an expansion of the category of R-modules. Using some special morphisms of modules such as phantom, -phantom, flat and absolutely pure morphisms, we give some new characterizations of left coherent rings, von Neumann regular rings, left semihereditary rings, left Noetherian rings, and right perfect rings.
