Rigidity of compact almost Ricci solitons and applications of Pohozaev-Schoen identity

Abstract

In this paper, we establish a condition for a closed almost Ricci soliton to be an Einstein manifold. As a by product of our approach, we present direct proofs of some interesting results about almost Ricci solitons and the Critical Point Equation (CPE) metrics of the total scalar curvature functional.
