Abstract

Electricity supply constitutes one of the basic necessities for a comfortable well being and takes a high premium in modern societies. Nigeria continues to witness power failure for several decades despite efforts by succeeding governments to stabilize the power sector. In any case, the rights of electricity consumers must necessarily occupy a pride of place in the governmental drive to provide adequate power supply. Hence, the role of the Law comes into play. The research is an effort to provide the basic rights of electricity consumers and it is the finding of this work that the relevant regulatory bodies are not effectively implementing these rights.
