Abstract

In this paper the issue of a right to internet access will be discussed from a supportive view. The right to internet access is defined as the ability to access the internet as if it was a public utility such as a road. The issue of government blackouts and bill discussing censorship will not be discussed. The paper is structured with an introduction, a discussion on human rights, user of the internet stake, the counter argument, the rights importance to IT, an ideal outcome, and a conclusion that summarizes. ISPs are internet service provider, which are the companies that provide internet. I will be using scholarly resources and my own experiences to further my point in this paper. Workers, citizens, and government will be referred to as different words though out this paper, but each mention refers to the definition of a worker, citizens, or government.
