Abstract
THREE-DIMENSIONAL ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY (3DE) has certainly demonstrated its utility in our understanding of cardiac anatomy and pathophysiology as well as impacted patient management. Notable improvements include improved LV assessment and guidance of surgical management in mitral valve surgery. There has, however, been biased attention toward 3DE of the left heart until recently. New evaluations of 3DE of the right heart have provided insight into right heart anatomy and function with the potential to affect patient management, thereby truly bringing right heart 3DE into the limelight.
