Abstract
The problem of legal thinking remains one of the central ones in the domestic theory of law. The subject of discussion is the analysis of approaches to understanding right and law, their hierarchy and correlation, unity and opposition. A productive method of research in this area is to appeal to the ideas of representatives of the domestic law school. Among the first, in Russian legal science, the issue of the relationship between right and law, the relationship between the natural and the positive is considered by K. A. Nevolin. The study of the views of K.A. Nevolin, in many ways, allows us to approach the solution of problems of concern to researchers of the law of the 21st century.
