Abstract
Rietvled quantitative analysis of amorphous phase in slag by adding α-Al2O3 as the standard was investigated by internal standard method with Topas software. The results show that the content of amorphous phase in slag can be quantified by Rietveld method. However it is necessary to increase the signal-noise ratio and resolution of the XRD pattern to obtain more accurate quantitative results if the slag contains less crystal phase. The qualitative analysis of XRD pattern with step-scanning type and smaller slit settings showed the crystalline phase of merwinite, gehlenite and periclase existed in the slag sample. The above step-scanning XRD pattern was refined by Rietveld method showing the quantitative results of amorphous phase in slag was 97.94% of weight fraction. And the weight fractions of merwinite, gehlenite and periclase were 1.10%, 0.33% and 0.63% respectively.
