Abstract
In the class of nine-parameter Riemann-Cartan type gravitational theories we find two theories that are unitary and satisfy a generalized Birkhoff's theorem: In the absence of matter, Schwarzschild metric with vanishing torsion is the unique spherically symmetric solution to the field equations.
