Abstract

AbstractThe introduction of metallic ridges in waveguides allows much greater flexibility in the design of waveguide applicators for industrial microwave systems. Ridges can be used to increase, decrease, or redistribute the electric field in the workpiece. Several examples of such uses of ridged waveguides are described in a qualitative sense in this paper.
