Abstract

Statistics of level-crossing intervals of an intensity distribution of monochromatic speckle patterns is studied. Rice probability functions are derived for the space intervals between the crossings occurring at an arbitrary intensity level of the speckle patterns. Numerical examples of the Rice probability functions are presented for the speckle patterns whose spatial frequency spectrum is limited by ideal rectangular and Gaussian low-pass spatial frequency filters.
