Abstract
In this paper our focus is on exploring the Ricci solitons of the Kantowski–Sachs spacetime. All the obtained Ricci solitons are expanding only. Also in all the cases except one case, Ricci soliton manifolds are Einstein and hence the Ricci solitons are the trivial Ricci solitons. Only in one particular case the obtained Ricci soliton is non-Einstein and expanding. We have also shown that in some cases the obtained Ricci soliton vector fields are potential fields while in other cases they are not potential fields.
