Abstract

According to the most interesting contributes and critical analyses, the present essay tries to outline the epistolary genre's situation and its possible theorizations. «Witness», «documentary» genre, the letter is hardly able to assert itself as a self-sufficient writing. In spite of that, its particular collocation - its pecular being connected with writer's life as well as with writer's opera - turns epistolary space into a paradoxal space: a global paradox that alters the spatiotemporal coordinates and the linguistic conditions. On the whole, it presents a lot of interpretative possibilities in view of a critical discourse that keeps all the contrasts and the oppositions in a global project inside.
