Abstract

An efficient synthesis of 1-silabenzonorbornenes was developed from a simple substrate combination of alkynyl(2-alkylallyl)silanes and arylboron reagents under rhodium catalysis through the use of 1,4-rhodium migration. Three carbon–carbon bonds were newly formed during the catalytic process and the reaction pathway was probed by a deuterium labeling experiment as well.
