Abstract

Fungi with Rhizoctonia-like mycelial states were isolated from diseased subterranean clover roots from five sites in Western Australia. Of 114 isolates, 79 produced teleomorphs; 73 were identified as Ceratobasidium sp., 4 as Rhizoctonia solani (AG 2-1 and 2-2) and 2 as Waitea circinata. Fifty-four binucleate-Rhizoctonia isolates were assigned to anastomosis groups C, F and K, and 11 were identified as R. cerealis.
