Abstract

Abstract Navajo and Western Apache speakers use rhetorical redundancy in written English as a major discourse feature to express emotions, politeness and persuasion. Various levels of linguistic structure are so employed. The source of this feature seems to be language transfer from Navajo and Western Apache.
