Abstract

Rheology measurements were used to study the flash off and curing of 2 pack water borne clear coats. By analysing the viscoelastic properties of the water borne clear coats and by correlating the results to model formulations curing can be examined in detail. The comparison with a corresponding solvent borne formulation leads to conclusions about the influence of water on the viscoelastic properties and the impact of water on the curing reaction.
