Abstract

Oscillatory shear flow properties of α-methylstyrene)/styrene block copolymers having molecular weights ranging from 120000 to 250000 and different block length ratios prepared by anionic polymerization were measured using a Rheometrics mechanical spectrometer at temperatures ranging from 116 to 251°C. It is concluded that these polymers are homogeneous as determined by DSC and by logarithmic plots of dynamic storage modulus versus dynamic loss modulus. The Stockmayer-Kennedy molecular viscoelasticity theory which was developed on the basis of the Rouse theory was modified using the concept of the tube model
