Abstract

The flow behavior of a thixotropic aqueous bentonite clay dispersion subjected to an electrohydrodynamic treatment is considered. The treatment results in the dispersion of particles and their aggregates, as well as in the activation of their surface. Kinetic dependences are determined for the destruction of the dispersion structure and its thixotropic restoration in a shear flow and under the effect of vibration.
