Abstract

We report 45 cases of rhabdomyolysis induced by fenoverine, which happened in a mean delay of 11 days. The posology of fenoverine was in a normal range : 300 mg to 600 mg daily. This side effect may be induced by modification in hepatic first pass effect of this drug : in 30 cases, indeed, there were a chronic hepatopathy or an association with hepatic inhibitory drugs (miconazole, antihistaminic H2) and with highly metabolised drugs (tienilic acid, fibrates).
