Abstract
Recently, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) has become one of the advanced technologies in many applications, such as the logistics management, material processing, medical treatment, traffic transportation, security patrol, animal control and spatial locating. A prototype of RFID system worked for the path detection under an indoor environment was designed and developed by this study. This RFID system was prepared by creating an experiment environment, writing the spatial-related information into the tags, and setting up those tags properly. While reading the stored data between the RFID reader and tags, the moving object's location can be effectively provided. Associated with the time information, the trajectory, distance and speed of the moving object can also be computed by the system. By also setting up the authorized zones, the moving object is then capable of being alerted, recorded and managed. This RFID prototype has presented its path detection function, and shown its potential to practically develop such an application system.
