Abstract

RFID is an emerging tool used for tracking and identifying stocks and physical objects. In competitive business world, technologies play a vital role toward bringing operational efficiency in business units. In this chapter, an attempt has been made to know the efficient RFID practices for improving operational performance of selected medical stores in the state of Odisha, India. Empirical relationship was measured through different statistical tools, i.e., correlation, regression, and data have been collected from key officials of retail units, i.e., store manager, operations manager, purchase manager, and so on from medical stores associated with 15 private medical units registered under government of Odisha. The study concludes that RFID is most efficient practice, and it has a significant impact on operational performance of medical store inside hospital and also contributes to the existing body of knowledge as well as helps the hospital management practitioners of healthcare industry.
