Abstract

Over the past decades, the protection system for digital content has been introduced in numerous literatures. It mainly focuses on providing secure communication channel and copy protection. These protection systems usually use well-known cryptograph algorithms which are regarded as the most secure way for protection. Nevertheless, these technologies were circumvented shortly after their release not because of the faultiness of cryptograph algorithm but because of the external factor such as the unique feature of digital content; digital content can be duplicated without additional cost, and be easily exposed to analog/digital bus tampering and “analog hole” problem. Moreover, it must consider that the protection system allows legal users to copy and move the contents freely to any devices in home environments, which makes it more difficult to protect digital contents. In this regard, in this paper, we propose a novel approach for the protection of digital contents using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technologies to resolve these problems.
