Abstract

This paper presents a highly efficient RF-DC converter for wireless energy collection applications sensitive to very low input power with a wide dynamic range. Implemented via an adaptive matching network to fine-tune impedance matching across dynamic input ranges. To ensure operation for wide inputs, an adaptive input matching network has been applied to this proposed RF-DC converter. An adaptive matching design circuit has a relatively low conversion efficiency of DC power. To improve the efficiency and DC output of RF-DC converters, loss compensation method has been applied to design circuits. Simulation shows sensitivity of up to 55.9% PCE within 40 dBm range input when operating at 5.8 GHz.
