Abstract

The rf surface resistance of superconducting Y-Ba-Cu-O thin films has been measured using a stripline resonator technique. The electron-beam-evaporated films have been measured from 0.6 to 17.4 GHz and from 4.2 to 8 K. The surface resistance reaches as low as 3.9 x 10/sup -4/ ..cap omega.. at the lowest frequency, and is expected to improve significantly as the film quality is optimized.
