Abstract

The characteristics of multimode delay line on RF pulse compression has been analyzed using a full 3D electromagnetic field inside a structure based on the finite element method (FEM). The multimode delay line performance is sensitive to the delay line length whose value is equal to a fractional wavelength and the output port. It allows transmission equal to one and different compression ratios with various delay line lengths for the useful circular TE 01 mode of the two and seven guide feeding wraparound mode converter. The relative input and output power with delay line length effect for the TE 01 mode are obtained using numerical simulations to demonstrate the transmission and compression ratio variations of the x- band linear colliders.
