Abstract

Superconducting radio frequency (SRF) cavity prototypes have been designed and fabricated for a heavy-ion accelerator of the Rare Isotope Science Project (RISP), and a SRF test facility for vertical testing of SRF cavities has been constructed. The RF system for vertical testing of 81.25-MHz quarter-wave resonators (QWRs), 162.5-MHz half-wave resonators (HWRs), and 325-MHz single-spoke resonators (SSRs) is based on the voltage-controlled oscillator with a phaselocked loop system. The data acquisition (DAQ) and the RF control are provided by a PXI-based hardware platform in conjunction with software developed in the LabView programming environment. Vertical tests of the QWR and the HWR prototypes were performed with the RF & DAQ system, and the vertical testing system was confirmed by comparing the results to the previous test results at the TRIUMF facility.
