Abstract

Two thirds of all strokes occur in the developing world,1 yet we know little about them. Authors in developing countries face formidable obstacles: limited opportunities for training in research and scientific writing, minimal resources for carrying out studies, and often a language barrier. Dr. Alain Tehindrazanarivelo, neurologist, former Minister of Health of Madagascar, and member of Stroke’s Editorial Board, has volunteered to help rewrite papers from the developing world to make them more competitive.
