Abstract

The Permian-Triassic sequence subsurface of Israel was deposited near margin of Arabian craton, which was a major source for both organic inorganic detritus. Three major identified this sequence, each consisting of a transgressive interval and a interval. Analysis of stratigraphic variation the amounts of reworked palynomorphs indicates that they are most abundant in regressive intervals. This is considered to be a result of changes the extent of exposed land, which was source for reworked palynomorphs, or of changes transportational regime. Stratigraphic variation the abundance of reworked organic detritus may be useful for identifying depositional cycles that are not otherwise evident rock record.
