Abstract

This month marks the 60th anniversary of the D-Day landings and, through media coverage, we will be able to learn more about the experiences of those who participated in this remarkable event in history. Many young men were killed. Others, such as Fred Bentley and Bob Osborne (shown on page 4 ) returned home having lost their sight or limbs. Now in their late seventies and eighties, these people have lived with the legacies of D-Day, overcome handicap and rebuilt their lives.
